Di Collins reports:
Tributes have come thick and fast for the organisers of the
13th Annual Dart Music Festival held last weekend. With over
600 performers, 30 different venues, hundreds of hours of
great music, and more than 50 volunteer helpers, the
festival once again lived up to its promise of ‘music for
all’. Pam Braakenburg, Chairman of the Dart Music
Festival, thanked the many sponsors and patrons whose
contributions had made it possible for the festival to have
such great talent as Ruby Turner, the Neath Male Choir,
Bowjangles, the Quails and many visiting and local musicians
who appeared in the programme.
"Without the financial support of the sponsors, patrons and
donations collected the festival could not happen. Dartmouth
really does have them to thank for making it possible, and I
would urge people in the community strongly to support those
local businesses who contributed. "The three
wonderful days of fantastic musicians; the many fans; and
great support from our sponsors made for a great event. The
weather remained dry and enabled the many local people and
visitors to enjoy the great atmosphere at the bandstand and
in the Market Square. “I think this has been one of
the most successful festivals we have held to date." "On
behalf of the committee: Thank you Dartmouth"
