5. Strange
Gardens in Dartmouth tonight
Each Sunday, Jacques, a primary school teacher, does an
amateur clown show at the village fair, to the horror of his
14-year-old son, Lucien. But one day, André, Jacques’ best
friend, takes the boy aside to reveal the secret behind his
father’s hobby.
He tells him that at the end of the Second World War, he and
Jacques committed an act of resistance to impress a girl
with whom they were smitten. As a result, they were captured
by the Germans with two other unlucky companions. Thrown in
a pit while waiting to be shot, the four men received a big
lesson in humanity. Through André’s account, Lucien
discovers a side to his father that he’s never seen.
Strange Gardens is a wonderful film with light moments, sad
ones, funny ones and superb acting. Don't miss it!
Guest tickets are for sale at The Windjammer 7.30-7.55 £3.50
Our bar at The Guildhall is open from 7.30 - the film to be
shown at 8pm approx.

Does Dartmouth dot TV really work Part II?
You might remember last week when we
told you how good advertising was on Dartmouth dot TV, we were
inundated with calls congratulating us and thanking us, we were
humbled!
We are often number one on Google
and proud of it. Your customers read this news, and they
look for their holiday accommodation here.
Many callers asked why the TIC, Town
Council and Dartmouth dot TV did not pool resources and make an
even bigger impact. We are up for it, and have suggested
this very idea many times. Marketing Dartmouth is
important, there is simply no place for politics and boxes.
Last week we heard that
Dartmouth Directory was for sale and we immediately
submitted an expression of interest, we were willing to pay
twice the asking price, no reply though!! If you have
bought it or know who has, we have some 'very' important
information for them,
click here to let us know.
Many think our telephone list is
the best

Others simply can't get enough of
our News Archives,
