2. Dinner
@ RB's

The
Dartmouth dot TV team had a brilliant birthday meal at RB's
Restaurant in Lower Street, Dartmouth last week. As always, the
food was superbly prepared by Wayne and beautifully served by
Wendy. Regular readers of the “News” will know that Dave is a
bit of a steak aficionado and pronounced his Luscombe fillet to
be “absolutely one of the best he’s ever tasted!” Both of us
chose fish starters from the Specials board; plump scallops and
crispy herring roes were equally delicious and Jill’s sea bass
fillet melted in the mouth. All complemented by an excellent
Cabernet Sauvignon. We couldn’t manage a dessert, but finished
our meal with local ice cream. Thank you RB's for another
excellent evening. Why don’t you come down to Dartmouth and try
RB’s organic fillet of beef or their locally caught seafood.

Signature of Dartmouth

Opening today -
'Signature of Dartmouth' is the perfect place to find that
special present. Specialising in interior gifts for the
home, Signature has sourced many of its products from the
continent, including items from Denmark, Germany, Sweden and
Belgium, as well as from home-grown designers.
Located in Lower Street, between Alf Resco's and RB's
Bistro, Signature stocks a wide range of items: from
cushions to candelabras, parasols to picture frames, you are
bound to find something to suit the occasion. Come on down
to Dartmouth and pop in to see them, Signature will be open
7 days a week.

5. Grow Your Own tonight
"Grow Your Own" is set
amid the mud and clutter of an allotment garden. Run by
hidebound traditionalists who ignore the occasional
dissenting voice, the status quo is threatened by the
arrival of a handful of asylum seekers who are given plots
in the hope that outdoor work and fresh food will help them
heal their broken lives.
This is not a film about gardening, it's a story of
prejudice and pain in a garden setting. Expertly written and
brilliantly rendered by the actors, the film takes you on a
journey of hope and despair with many insights into the
lives of those less fortunate than ourselves.
A gentle, astute, life-affirming British comedy. Dig in.
Guest tickets for sale in The Windjammer 7.30-7.55 £3.50.
Our bar at The Guildhall opens at 7.30 - the film to be
shown 8pm approx.
