1. I'm
not Scared, tonight at the Guildhall
This beautifully filmed tale of friendship and loyalty is also a
gripping coming-of-age thriller.
It is 1978 in Southern Italy, and 10-year-old Michele is
enjoying his summer, running through the wheat fields and
exploring abandoned houses with his friends and his little
sister. One day he discovers a covered pit in which a wild young
boy is imprisoned. What feels like just another adventure to
Michele soon grows into an enormous mystery as he struggles to
make sense of who the boy is and who's responsible for keeping
him there.
Guest tickets are for sale in The Windjammer £3.50 from
7.30-7.55
Our bar at The Guildhall opens at 7.30 - the film to be shown at
8pm approx. |

|
The film's vivid visual style immediately transports the
viewer to the parched Italian summer, with its golden
fields, brilliant blue skies and brightly coloured
clothing. All the performances are superb, from
the excellent (and novice) child cast to solid
supporting adults. Watching Michele learn both positive
and negative realities about the world around him is
both fascinating and deeply moving. |

3. Trade Talk
This is really for
accommodation providers in Dartmouth.
Are
you on the Dartmouth dot TV website?
There are a few websites that cover Dartmouth. But only
one where accommodation providers get real bookings, and that is
ours! Why? because we have more feature rich content than
anyone, more pictures, more news, it's easy to navigate, and it
exudes class and quality, just like Dartmouth! But the
owners of Dartmouth dot TV are also proactive in promoting
Quality Tourism for Dartmouth. We do not believe in "area"
marketing, but we do believe in "destination marketing".
Dartmouth is Dartmouth, it is beautiful, we will concentrate
solely on Dartmouth and its surrounding villages, no more, no
less. We will never 'dilute' our marketing efforts.
Check to see your entry right now by
clicking here,
if you haven't paid, it isn't going to be there in 2 weeks
time!!
Are
you getting enough bookings?
It is possible to let out a self catering apartment in Dartmouth
for 45 weeks a year. It is also possible for a B&B to have
95% occupancy during the main season. There are places in
Dartmouth that achieve this, and some which fall well short,
why? |
 |
Clearly your property must be recently decorated and
have contemporary or classic furniture. Most
holidaymakers expect to find the same standard and often
better decoration and furnishings than they have at
home.
But perhaps the most important thing is responding to
e-mails promptly. The owners of the 45 week a year
flat realised that if an email was not answered within 2
hours, the booking was lost. Don't wait two weeks
to answer, check your e-mail every hour, and respond
positively, suggest alternative weeks if you are full.
And point them to your website. Make sure every
e-mail you send has your website and telephone number,
you can do this automatically using a 'signature' on
Outlook Express. |
