1. Super
Yacht "My Trust" visits
"My Trust" was on her maiden
voyage and chose Dartmouth to stop off for the views and our
local food! At 147 feet in length and accommodating
only 10 guests, this has to be one of the most
luxurious Super Yachts we have ever seen. Look at the rear
fenders, they are bigger than the crew member !
Her main deck features a master
stateroom plus owner's office, saloon and dining area.
A lounge with bar is also found on the bridge deck as well
as the captain's cabin. A wealth of outdoor relaxation
facilities include large open seating areas on the aft decks
and a sun deck with bar, Jacuzzi and pads. Other
yachts of this size might take 5 times more guests, making
this a very special vessel indeed! Welcome to
Dartmouth!
If "My Trust" comes here for a
long weekend, why don't you ??

Passing Out Parade

At BRNC's Passing In and
Passing Out Parade last Thursday, 77 Young Officers passed
out and a further 97 passed in. The salute was taken by The
Second Sea Lord and Commander-in-Chief Naval Home Command,
Vice Admiral Sir Adrian Johns, who was accompanied by the
Mayor of Dartmouth, Councillor Debbie Morris and BRNC's
Commodore Martin Alabaster.
Fortunately the weather
was cooler on Thursday than earlier in the week, but still a
beautiful spring day for this ceremonial event. Prince
William who spent only a few days at BRNC before heading off
for further naval training at sea, added his autograph to
those of other members of the Royal Family to the Wardroom
ceiling!
Visitors can tour
Dartmouth's famous Royal Naval College by booking at the
Tourist Information Centre in Dartmouth.

The Knight Frank Sales
Team at the Dart Marina Development are continually being
asked the same questions, by their friends and interested
parties, when out in Dartmouth, ‘Have you sold them all?’
‘How many have you sold?’ and ‘How many have you got left?’
Their response: "No, we
haven’t sold them all, yes, we’ve sold 33 properties so far
and yes, we still have 5 remaining.
"We have just released two more properties last weekend, a
two bedroom apartment and a one bedroom apartment. These,
along with the other 3 remaining, come fully furnished to
the highest standard by top London Interior Designers, RDD.
We offer complimentary Spa membership to all purchasers.
"We are also very proud to have been awarded the ‘Best
Marine Development’ award and ‘Best Development, Devon’
award by a top national newspaper. So that’s another feather
in Dartmouth’s cap." If anyone is interested in viewing
these luxury properties, please ring the sales office on
01803 837119, open daily from 10am to 4pm. Prices
start from £495,000
4. Two
local food suppliers make it big

Two local businesses
have been chosen to take part in a 6 month distribution
pilot run by Paignton-based Caterfood for Devon Food and
Drink. Manna
from Devon in Kingswear and the
Dartmouth Ice Cream Company
are 2 of only 6 local companies selected to test out the new
system.
It means their luscious brownies and puddings and über
creamy ice creams & fruity sorbets can be had anywhere
in the South West overnight in Caterfood's vans,
specially designed to carry frozen, chilled and ambient
produce.
"I never though I'd get excited about distribution" said
Manna from Devon's Holly Jones who makes all their brownies
and puddings by hand from local ingredients. "However I am
happy to be proved wrong - by
hooking up with Caterfood, who are distribution experts, we
can concentrate on what we do best. Now our products
are available throughout the South West to shops, caterers
and visitor attractions. It also releases a whole day of my
week previously spent making deliveries. Lovely as it is to
pootle round the South Hams, I don't think it would go
down too well on Dragon's Den!"
