1. Browns
opens!

Browns opened to a cracking start last Friday with local
celebrities and the sort of interior decoration you only see
in expensive magazines. The bar is made out of pewter, so cool it almost frosts over
as you look at it! Visit their
website by

2. Glass
Blowing

Nick from Blown in Dartmouth reports: The one day course is
designed to introduce people to the amazing properties of
Hot Glass. The emphasis will be on a one to one tuition
basis and no previous experience is required, just
enthusiasm!
In the course of the day we will work in teams of two taking
turns to be the gaffer and first assistant - you will
quickly learn enough of the basics so that you can create
your first piece of Art Glass whether it be Blown, Sandcast
or freeform fabricated. Any masterpieces that you make
during the course of the day are yours to take home but you
will have wait until the piece is annealed (cooled down)
which can take 24hrs.
The courses will take place on a Friday, so a long weekend
in the picturesque town of Dartmouth could be an option!

Flight of the Falcon
Ever thought of owning your own bird
of prey? No, we haven't either! But you can still
experience the ancient sporting art of falconry and hawking by
booking an introductory day's course (two to six persons) to
learn the basics through the
Royal Castle Hotel in Dartmouth.
On the last Saturday of each month, all year round, David Scott
(with the aid of a Harris Hawk!) will begin the day with an
informative talk in the Hotel's Library on the history of
falconry and how to keep and train a bird of prey. After a short
break for a hearty rustic lunch you will then have the
opportunity to fly a Harris Hawk from your fist at a nearby
farm. Experience the birds' power on take off and the
lightest of landings on return, feel the birds' legendary
grip whilst being protected by a falconer's glove.
Why not treat someone with a
surprise gift voucher? Make it part of your special long
weekend break. Call reception on 01803 833033 for full
details.
4. Easter
