1.     The Hotel Inspector in Dartmouth?

The television program The Hotel Inspector is looking for Hotels, Guest Houses and Bed and Breakfasts in the Dartmouth area. Renowned hotelier Alex Polizzi has been confirmed to front Five's new-look Hotel Inspector when the series returns later this year.

Alex, who is the daughter of Olga Polizzi, granddaughter of Lord Forte and niece of Sir Rocco Forte, has all the industry experience and authority needed to turn flagging hotels into profitable ventures. She trained at the Mandarin Oriental in Hong Kong, worked for Marco Pierre White at the Criterion, and has done stints at Rocco Forte hotels in Cardiff, Rome, St Petersburg, as well as assisting at her mother's hotel, Tresanton in Cornwall.

If you feel your business could benefit from a fresh pair of eyes and you would be interested in this unique opportunity to get valuable, no-nonsense advice, a cash injection to help with changes as well promoting the hotel/B&B to a nationwide audience of millions then this could be an opportunity for you.

In the past series the Hotel Inspector has looked at staffing, menus, décor and much more. The Hotel Inspector will endeavour to offer advice to help your business head towards the skies. To apply for this fantastic and unique opportunity, or just to find out more, please email by clicking here  or call this number 01752 727 490

How about it guys - what a fantastic opportunity to publicise Dartmouth!!

2.    Ten Canoes tonight!!

Marilyn Bird of Dartmouth Film Society says of tonight's film - an art-house film filled with more humour and skilled acting than most Hollywood blockbusters, Ten Canoes is a wry story within a story. The tone of the film is set when narrator David Gulpilil (Crocodile Dundee) says, "Once upon a time in a land far, far away...." He stops himself with a warm, hearty chuckle and adds, "I'm only joking."

Set in Australia's far northern Arnhem Land, the film which won the Special Jury Prize at the 2006 Cannes Film Festival tells the tale of friendship, deception, and forbidden love. Ten tribesmen venture on a trip where they will build canoes, gather food, and gossip about their sexual prowess and their wives.  With stunning cinematography Ten Canoes is a fable about jealousy and desire, a fascinating ethnographic document and a highly enjoyable nudge-in-the-ribs shaggy dog story.

Our bar at The Guildhall will open at 7.30 - the film to be shown at 8pm approx.
Guest tickets will be for sale in The Windjammer 7.30-7.55 at £3.50

3.   Dartmouth Regatta Air Show

Holidaymakers Bren and Laura took these fantastic photos of the Dartmouth Air Show at Regatta last year.  Held during the Royal Dartmouth Regatta this is a not to be missed opportunity to see some spectacular aircraft.  It isn't widely known, but a lot of aeroplane and military spotters come to the Regatta to specifically plane spot, and who can blame them?  Several technical magazine carry articles and air-to-air and air-to-ground frequencies of the show, it's big, it's great!

You can see more of the show by clicking here and by coming to Dartmouth on the 27- 30 August 2008?
