1. Potiche
tonight!
Francois Ozon’s Potiche is a
satirical take on the war between the sexes and classes that has
everything you could want from a French film – music, humour,
irreverence and most irresistibly, the pairing of Deneuve and
Depardieu. Set in 1977 in a French provincial town, Potiche
stars Deneuve as Suzanne Pujol, whose late father founded an
umbrella factory which her husband, Robert, now runs with an
intractable attitude to all his workers, except for his
secretary, Nadège, towards whom he is nothing but tractable.
Suzanne's place is in her very 70s kitchen and she seems to have
contented herself with a life of domesticity. But when the
workers go on strike and take her husband hostage, she steps in
to manage the factory. To everyone’s surprise she proves herself
a competent and assertive woman of action helped in no small way
by union leader Babin (Depardieu), Suzanne’s former beau, who
still holds a flame for her…

Twelfth Night - The Search for Twins

Dartmouth’s Inn Theatre Company
are celebrating their 10th Anniversary this summer with a
wondrous production of Twelfth Night from August 7th to 11th
2012 – marking a return to their first ever production in
2003. They’re searching for a pair of twins to play the
parts of Viola and Sebastian.
This year's director Paul Vincent, is delighted to be taking
the reins for this very popular Shakespeare comedy and is
running an all day workshop on Sunday January 29th starting
at 10.30am at the Decks Youth Club in Ivy Lane (behind the
Seale Arms pub), Dartmouth. The workshop is open to all that
are interested in being involved, both on and off stage and
it will be followed by auditions for Twelfth Night from 4pm
to 6pm.
So, if you’ve always wanted to tread the boards or just be
involved in a hugely-fun production, then please don’t
hesitate to book a place on the workshop or register your
interest. If you’re unable to attend this Sunday but would
like to be involved, please let Jane know too. For more
information please contact Jane Windsor Smith on 01803

So last word to Jane, “it’s a
new year and new you so why not get involved in something
that will be fun, rewarding, exhilarating, a chance to meet
and make a huge variety of friends and in turn, could be
life-changing!” (photographs from Dartmouth News of

always check quality, resolution, size and post process
in PhotoShop to give outstanding results. If you
need us, if only to post process a dull image, just
