1.   Sunrise

We don't often use anyone other than our own Nikon registered professional photographers, but when Julie Smith from Orleans Guest House sent us this picture, from one of their bedrooms taken early in the morning, we just had to share it with you.

Dartmouth is truly "a Town for all Reasons" and a "Town for all Seasons"

Most of the bars we love have warming real fires at night, don't you fancy coming down for the weekend?

3.    Wildfire's new Winter menu

Dart Marina's new restaurant Wildfire has a new and interesting Winter menu which can be found here.  You may be surprised who you see having a quiet drink next to the river?

4.    Older people make more bread

Recently members of the Dart Valley U3A donned their aprons and set about making wholesome, homemade bread with David Jones at the Manna from Devon Cookery School in Kingswear. Although the day had been planned as a standard teaching day, it turned out that because those attending either regularly cooked bread or had some experience, the day became a technique and recipe swapping session. 'Everyone learned from each other', explains David, 'including myself, and everyone left inspired to bake more'  More details available at www.mannafromdevon.comDavid adds, remember that if you and a group of friends want to organise a private workshop we can do that for almost any topic you would like.

5.   Christmas Gift Fair

Julie Hill reports: We are holding a Christmas Gift Fair at The Flavel, Dartmouth on Saturday the 9th December 10.00am - 3.00pm in aid of Stoke Fleming School. There will be stalls selling everything from Christmas cards to Jewellery, children's clothes, gifts and much more. There will be mulled wine and mince pies for sale and a raffle will be held.

6.   Memories of Dartmouth

A painting taken from the book "Dartmouth, A New History of the Port and its People" by and Ray Freeman.

The picture shows an Edwardian couple looking down over old Dartmouth and to Kingswear.
