Come & enjoy
the peace and quiet that comes from having no
nearby roads or neighbours. Refresh your body and soul with a long
cool drink on our south-facing terrace whilst taking in the stunning
sea views. Sleep under crisp Egyptian cotton sheets and luxuriate in
a Jacuzzi bath or get invigorated under our massage power showers.
Each of our three bedrooms has it’s own flat-screen TV with DVD
player and en-suite bathroom. The 'master' bedroom even has two
queen-size beds!
Your 'home from home'
has a beautiful open-plan
kitchen-dining area with large oak-framed double doors to the terrace. The
kitchen has been handmade by local craftsmen and topped with Devon
granite. With de Dietrich double-oven and separate combi microwave,
American style fridge/freezer and Neff dishwasher cooking here will be a
real treat – when you can keep your eyes of the sea view that is! If
cooking al-fresco is more your style then why not try your hand cooking on
our magnificent gas barbecue which is conveniently located just outside on
the terrace. |
'Sailaway'
has recently been converted from an old granary
store into a beautiful and spacious luxury self-catering barn. The
contemporary interiors were created by the award-winning designer Mary
Eldac of Totnes. With every modern comfort and convenience we are sure
that you will find this more than just a 'home from home'.
The barn is located
on the beautiful South Hams coast, just at the
edge of the charming village of Stoke Fleming in a most tranquil and
sylvan setting. In the village there is an excellent local stores and
post office, a cosy pub and a fish bistro. With the cosmopolitan and
historic port of Dartmouth just a 5 minute drive away this is the
perfect holiday setting! |

On cold days
after an
invigorating bike ride or a spot of kite flying on the cliffs you
deserve to curl up in front of the wood-burning stove whilst
listening to your favourite CD on our B&O sound system or stretch
out on the comfy sofas to watch a DVD from the extensive library of
over 100 titles - everything from Disney to Discovery!
There's so much
to see and do in the South Hams when
you're through with relaxing! There are dozens of activities and
attractions to be had from sailing and boating on the Dart
paragliding or windsurfing in Bigbury Bay or taking a steam train and
open top bus ride from Dartmouth (Kingswear) to Totnes and then back
again on a pleasure cruiser down the river.
Just a short walk
(downhill) is the fantastic Blue Flag beach of
Blackpool Sands one of the finest in the country. Set in it's own
little bay past guests have often said that they feel like they are
on a beach in Spain or Portugal! |
Our laundry
room
is fully equipped with a washing machine and separate tumble dryer, a sink
and drying racks. Outside is ample parking for several cars and you can
even park your boat trailer in the purpose-built 'corral'.
On warm days
take a stroll down to the beach and laze away the day searching for sea
shells or just relaxing in the sun or maybe tramp one of the many nearby
footpaths that will take you inland through beautiful woods, vales and
villages, or out onto the coast path for some sea air and fantastic views?
Or why not explore nearby National
Trust gardens and houses like Greenways, the summer home of Agatha
Christie or Coleton Fishacre built by the D'Oyly Carte family? With
castles at Totnes, Compton and Berry Pomeroy there are plenty of
ancient buildings to discover. |
We have included
everything we think you will want, fluffy towels for the bathroom, logs
for the burner, loo rolls, soap, shampoo and shower gel, so you only
need to bring yourselves! In the kitchen we have 'store-cupboard' items
such as black pepper, mustard and ketchup, plus all dishwashing liquid
and even a First Aid kit. We also leave you with a 'Welcome Pack' that
includes tea, coffee, bread, milk, fruit juice plus local ham, cheese
and eggs and of course a bottle of something sparkling to get you
started! If you require anything else then just let us know.
In the garden
you will find another world to explore with a small apple orchard to one
side (help yourself) and National Trust woods to the other your privacy
is guaranteed. We have created four distinct seating areas, the main
terrace with barbecue and hardwood dining furniture, a lower deck area
still with sea views but with the luxury of a hot tub and loungers and
yet another small terrace by the summer house. At the far end of
the garden under the shade of the trees is a very tranquil place to pass
the time with just the tinkling of the water feature to disturb you
(optional of course)! If this all sounds too relaxing then why not enjoy
an energetic game of croquet on the lawn?
